Jacksonville, FL - Richard Collier, number 76 for the Jaguars, was reported injured in a shooting earlier in September, 2008. Neither the team nor the doctors have divulged any information until now.
Collier has been in the hospital since the shooting in the early A.M. hours September 2 outside a home in Riverside.
He and a former Jaguars player had been out clubbing late Monday night, and had stopped to wait on two women who went inside a home briefly.
A man walked up to the Cadillac Escalade with Collier sitting inside and opened fire. Police say the gunman targeted Collier. Former Jaguars player Kenneth Pettway walked away unharmed.
There are reports of Collier involved in an earlier incident where he "knocked out" another club patron, but no other information has been forthcoming.
Our prayers are with Richard Collier and his family.
